Gathering Experiment: Incorporating Community Care
With everything going on in the world ❤️🩹, I am trying to focus on what I can control—and releasing grip (as best I can) on the things I can’t. Community care is central to this grounding practice-- what are decision-points we make (big or small) to show up for each other.
EXAMPLES FOR INPO
In last month's Gather ‘Round, the icebreaker question was to share gatherings that feel soul-nourishing during these topsy-turvy times. For me, that’s anything that brings me into my body with music: dancing, singing, drumming.
Here’s another simple way to foster community care: at the start of a team meeting, try a round robin check-in where everyone shares how they’re really feeling in that moment. It's a powerful way to take a temperature check of the room (whether in person or virtual), cultivating empathy and connection.
I also want to acknowledge that this might not feel like the right move for your team. Honor that knowing and consider where else you might bring it-- perhaps a group you volunteer with or dinner with friends.
